Dc Collectibles: Arrow Pack #1 (pics to come)

Jean-Luc OnCard you have failed this blog--
I've been loaded with school in the last few weeks but I should be able to devote more time to content on this site.
If you like masked vigilantes or shirtless men, then Arrow is the show for you. It airs every wednesday on the cw channel. It's been steadily improving over its already stellar first season. The show has been popular enough to warrant a Flash companion show.

When DC Collectables announced they were producing an Arrow figure pack, I wasn't keen on the ""Deathstroke". The only problems is that it isn't Deathstroke, If you watch the show  you'd know that its Billy Wintergreen, Slade's partner. (or possibly a generic Deathstroke thug).  Wintergreen shares  the same suit but has a couple of slight differences. Slade's costume has grey tinted gear while Wintergreen is largely black.

I didn't think i'd say this but Wintergreen is the better of the two figures in this set. It's so well done. The Arrow pack was one of the first sets released under Dc's new articulation standard and both figures are miles more articulated than they would have been if released last year. The fact that he has usable holsters seals it. The sculpting on the figure is a fair representation of the characters few appearances. The joints were oily when he was ripped from his plastic prison, but with the amount of handling that's been done it's not as noticeable. If it weren't for the eye, the figure would be a nice design for Deathstroke. Regardless of who this figure is meant to be I've put him in with the other Arkham figures that I own and he fits in just fine.

The "Arrow" is still a good figure, just a little less than Wintergreen. Just like Wintergreen, i've put him in with the Arkham figures that I own. The hood isn't removable but it can be pushed back enough to show off the Steven Amell likeness ( which is rather impressive for such a small figure). The look represented here is the season one look, with face paint mask and Yeo Feng bow and all. He includes two individual arrows and a sculpted group of arrows. Two alternate fisted hands are also included. The fists snap in easily but the open hands are a little loose (I misplaced one of the alternate hands at one point and have yet to find it). The bow was a tight fit at first but the hand has opened up enough that it goes in with ease. The bow even has a string bow, something I haven't seen since toybiz days. It's not a fake string like something Mattel would produce either. While I think Wintergreen is a better constructed  figure, I like "The Arrow" more and would've passed on Wintergreen if they had been singles.

The "Arrow" has articulation that is good in theory but the execution is a little disappointing. It's about as good as DCUC. The legs are the weakest part of both figures but it's not too bad. It just takes a little more time to work but they can swing nearly 90 degrees in either direction. The left leg on Wintergreen is particularly stiff, otherwise all the points I like to see are present and all the other joints have good ranges of motion.

I hope DCC continues this line to include characters such as "actual" Deathstroke, Deadshot, Black Canary, heck even Officer Lance. It's been announced by Dc that they do plan on expanding the line in some fashion, but the specifics remain a mystery. Just don't make a hoodie Roy shudder...

(I'm away for the next few days but when I come pack I'll have some pictures to add in.)
